Their diet consists of small fish such as sunfish and yellow perch, they will also eat the smaller members of large species like walleye or trout.

The world record is set at just over 22 pounds, it was caught out of Lake Montgomery in southern Georgia.

Largemouth bass spawn primarily in the spring, when the water is between 55 to 65 degrees that is when spawning occurs. They will move closer to shore when spawning, moving to a depth of 3 or 4 feet deep. Anywhere from 2,000 to 26,000 eggs will be laid and will hatch in 3 to 6 days.
